(ANSA) – VENICE, 28 AUG – In conjunction with the Film Festival and the resulting increase in water traffic, the Navigation Safety Service has intensified checks to ensure compliance with the regulations on navigation in the canals of the historic center with patrols equipped with telelaser equipment to detect speed. In particular, the San Marco Basin, the Grand Canal, the Cannaregio Canal and the secondary canals were monitored, with the use of patrols that proceeded to ascertain the commission of 63 administrative violations. Telelaser stations were activated to carry out a function of prevention of the phenomenon of wave motion, nevertheless detecting 33 violations for exceeding the speed limits. The activity also involved the control of various units which led to the notification of 8 administrative violations for boarding and disembarking passengers on Actv docks, two for failure to respect the one-way system, three for lack of an insurance certificate, five for failure to respect the ZTL, eight for irregular moorings and four for irregularities in keeping on-board documentation. The activities of the Navigation Safety Service will continue throughout the period of the Film Festival. (ANSA).
