Telekom is targeting Whatsapp users – “How the hell”

From shared vacations to birthday parties – many memories often end up in group chats. To ensure that these are not lost, Telekom has launched an AI tool that allows WhatsApp users to turn audios, videos, emojis, images and messages into video memories. The tool, called “.mem”, was launched in collaboration with the creative agency Saatchi & Saatchi and is the first of its kind.

The AI ​​can put together a video from the group chats in around 20 minutes that contains all the important memories and can be shared on social networks. To use the tool, “.mem” with the phone number +49 151 17739410 is added as a contact in the cell phone and then in the WhatsApp group. Pictures, videos and comments are shared in the chat as usual. If “.mem” is to create such a video, users only have to enter “Create our @mem” in the chat.

With the new tool, Telekom wants to enable young people in particular to “relive and share their most important moments”. The tool is to be introduced in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, North Macedonia and Germany. In these eight European countries, WhatsApp users will soon be able to receive a video that summarizes all the funny and beautiful moments from the group chats.
