Leicester City have had a difficult start to the season in the Premier League, as the team is in 16th place with ten points from twelve games and recently manager Steve Cooper was sacked. Therefore, the club is currently managed by Ben Dawson on a temporary basis.
On Wednesday, the British newspaper The Telegraph reported that the owner of Leicester, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha confronted the playing team this week, when he would accuse the players of letting Cooper down. According to The Telegraph, it was Srivaddhanaprabha’s decision to sack Cooper, but the owner would feel that the players are involved in the sacking due to the recent poor performance in England.
Furthermore, the Leicester owner would also be disappointed that pictures were leaked of Leicester’s players partying at the Museo nightclub in Copenhagen hours after Saturday’s defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League, even though the trip was pre-approved. Video clips went viral this weekend, as Leicester players had fun, and a sign with the text: “Enzo, I miss you” was also spotted.
The text refers to Enzo Maresca, who took Leicester to the Premier League earlier this year, but left this summer to take up a job as head coach at Chelsea.
According to the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Danes Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen were two of the players who participated at Museo.
Leicester face Brentford away in the Premier League on Saturday.
