REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA—Telegram, a popular instant messaging application and competitor to WhatsApp, released the Stories feature to its premium users last month. Now the feature is not only available for premium subscribers, but for everyone. Announcement about the Stories feature available to everyone on Telegram came in conjunction with the celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary.
The Stories feature on Telegram is similar to what other platforms offer such as Facebook, Snapchat or Instagram. However, unlike others, this platform has one feature that sets it apart from the rest. “Telegram allows users to edit Stories after posting,” the report was quoted as saying GizmochinaWednesday (16/8/2023).
There are several options that can be customized, including the ability to choose who can view stories, how long to view them, and whether or not they can be saved by others. Premium users also have access to additional features, such as the ability to view other people’s stories in stealth mode, a permanent view history, and the ability to save stories to their gallery.
The company said in a blog post that this is the most requested feature in Telegram history. That’s why the company has spent several months innovating and perfecting the format. “Telegram Stories has everything you’d expect and much more that hasn’t been done before,” the statement continued.
To use this new feature, users can simply open the Telegram app and tap on the “Stories” icon located on the bottom bar. From there, you can start creating a new story by tapping the “+” icon.
Next when you’re done, choose who can view it by tapping the “Share” button or setting a timer for how long the story will be available for others to view.
