Full results of the study will be released in the coming months, but the report now being released details that Internet penetration increased in the year of the pandemic. One of the most important findings is that people who reported not using the Internet said that they mainly did not use the Internet, or because of a lack of knowledge about how it works, or lack of resources. The socioeconomic level is the “main factor to explain the lack of connectivity“explains the Internet MX Association in its report.

Also, the “* decrease in rates and mobile devices has democratized Internet access”, AIMX assures.

In Mexico, the issue of connectivity is still pending, since there are more than 26 million Mexicans aged 6 and over who still do not have access to the Internet. According to AIMX, 77% of those who said they are not Internet users plan to acquire a connection in the next six months.
