Previously, the TNI Commander issued a Telegram Letter (ST) number ST/1221/2021 dated November 5, 2021, which was signed by the Chief of General Staff (Kasum) of the TNI Lt. Gen. Eko Margiyono on behalf of the Commander.
On November 5, the Commander of the TNI was still held by Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, while Andika Perkasa was officially inaugurated on November 17, 2021. However, President Joko Widodo had sent a Presidential Letter containing Andika’s name as the sole candidate for the Commander of the TNI on November 4.
The telegram contained at least four points of the Commander’s affirmation related to the legal process.
Among other things, it is stated that summons made to TNI soldiers by law enforcement officers to provide information on a legal event must be approved by the commander or unit head.
Then, TNI Soldiers who provide information to the apparatus can be carried out in their unit or at the office of the said law enforcement officer accompanied by a law officer or unit officer.
