Telefónica closes agreement with Anima to create online education joint venture in Brazil

MADRID, 9 Feb. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Telefónica has closed an agreement with the Brazilian company Anima Educação to create a joint subsidiary and operate a digital education platform focused on continuing education in the country.

According to the communication sent to the Brazilian market by the Spanish company, the training will be taught in areas such as technology, business management and administration and tourism, and will be focused on improving the employability of students.

The creation of the company and the beginning of the operations is subject to the approval of the Administrative Council for the Defense of Competition, the Brazilian regulator.

Anima is one of the largest digital education companies in Brazil with around 320,000 students.

The alliance had already been announced last October in the presentation of Telefónica Brasil’s quarterly results. There, it was specified that the Brazilian company will provide the platform, content and teachers, while Vivo will be responsible for billing, customer acquisition and sales.
