The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI), called on Tuesday in a press release, the Ivorian population to be vigilant on a new form of online loans via mobile applications such as ” Easy Cash ”, ”Ivory Coast Money”, ”Quick loan”, etc.
” The use of these applications involves risks and threats to personal data and the privacy of populations, ” warned the telecommunications regulator in Côte d’Ivoire.
In addition, ARTCI has informed that these applications which collect personal data have not been subject to any authorization to process personal data.
The Protection Authority concluded by inviting the companies that own these online loan applications to approach its competent services in order to comply with Law No. 2013-450 of June 19, 2013 relating to the protection of personal data within 10 days of the publication of this press release.
