Télé-Québec content rewarded at the 39th Gémeaux Awards

After a decidedly extraordinary start to the school year, Télé-Québec congratulates its artisans, winners of 18 Gémeaux awards.

Télé-Québec’s unifying programming has indeed won over the public and members of the Academy with shows such as The MAMMOTH eveningwinner of four awards including best program or series: youth – entertainment or magazine, and For oncenamed best show or series: interview or talk show in its first season.

Télé-Québec’s documentary programming continues to raise difficult but necessary questions. It has collected five trophies, including that of the best documentary program awarded to Adonisthat of the best observational documentary series won by Being a teenager and that of the best research: documentary program won by Goodbye Daesh?

Unmissable events for those who want to stay informed, Télé-Québec magazines also stood out at the Gémeaux this year. Curious Begin thus won for a second time the title of best service magazine or best lifestyle documentary series while In the media won the award for best service or social interest magazine. Marie-Louise Arsenault was rewarded for the fourth time for her work in hosting this news magazine.

Télé-Québec’s youth content also stood out. In addition to the awards won by MAMMOTH, Frida, it’s me was awarded Best Original Production for Digital Media: Youth. Sébastien René, for his role in Kilucru Islandand the young Estelle Fournier, for her role in Like no chicken headseach won an award in the categories of Best Leading Actor: Youth. The host of Joanie’s Safari, Joanie Lamoureux, for her part, received her very first Gémeaux by winning in the Animation: Youth category.

Finally, the series hosted by Philippe-Audrey Larrue-St-Jacques Philo Pop received the Gémeaux for best direction in an original production intended for digital media: all categories excluding fiction.
