Tejashwi Yadav Urges Congress to Empower Strong Regional Parties with Driver’s Seat

Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar’s deputy chief minister and a leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party, has said that the Congress is the biggest party in the opposition, and that regional parties where they are strong should be allowed to lead the challenge against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 general election. Yadav added that Lalu Prasad, former Bihar chief minister, and current chief minister Nitish Kumar, were seeking to unite the opposition. Yadav was speaking after being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation for over eight hours in connection with a railways land-for-jobs scam case. Yadav’s comments followed remarks by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi urging opposition parties to work together, and thanking them for support following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha.
