Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that his country would continue its “strong support” for Syria, adding that Iran considers security and progress in Syria “its own business.” This is reported by the Syrian Arab news agency SANA.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic met with Assad in Damascus during his trip to Syria.

The Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the growing relations between Iran and Syria, emphasizing the importance of preparing the ground for the development of these ties in the long term.

The head of Iranian diplomacy also expressed satisfaction with the expansion of Syria’s relations with other countries, saying that this shows that Syria occupies an important position in the region.

Amir Abdollahian said that Iran always “emphasizes the use of political solutions instead of war.” Therefore, he added, the Islamic Republic welcomes “positive changes in Syria’s political relations with other countries.”

Iran’s foreign minister spoke of the recent unrest in his country, saying that Iran was facing a hybrid war in which some Western states played a “provocative and meddlesome role” but were defeated.

Amir Abdollahian also spoke with President Assad about the latest developments regarding nuclear talks aimed at lifting sanctions imposed by the West on Iran.

The Syrian president, for his part, said that Iran has always supported Syria during the war, adding that Syria will never forget this support. He called the future trip of the President of Iran important Ibrahim Raisi to Syria.

Assad also elaborated on recent political and diplomatic developments regarding Syria, emphasizing the importance of continued negotiations and coordination between Tehran and Damascus on key bilateral and regional issues.

He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a partner of Syria, noting that the two countries will continue to support each other in various fields.
