Teenager shot dead near her Bronx home – NBC New York

NEW YORK – A teenager was shot dead in a block in the Bronx Sunday night and was the latest victim of gun violence in New York City. This is after a series of other shootings that took place over the weekend in that county that resulted in injuries to people.

The teenager was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital 30 minutes later.

Authorities indicate that the child had no criminal record and it is unclear whether he was the target of the shooting.

Two shells were recovered at the scene in the hours following the shooting, but investigators have not yet found the murder weapon or arrested any suspects.

A few blocks from where the 17-year-old was fatally shot, police said a man was fighting for his life after being shot in the head while sitting inside a crane. According to police, a man on a motorcycle approached the truck and opened fire at around 1am on Sunday.
