Teenager Arrested for Murder and Mutilation in Miranda State
In a shocking turn of events, a 14-year-old teenager has been accused of committing a brutal murder and mutilating the victim’s finger to unlock his cell phone.The incident occurred on the morning of January 15 in the Calle Mijito sector of Tacarigua parish, Brión municipality, Miranda state.
According to Commissioner douglas Rico, director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), the victim, Franyer Hurtado, 28, was involved in a heated argument with the minor over personal issues. During the altercation, the teenager allegedly grabbed a hammer and fatally struck Hurtado.“Subsequently, the young man seized some of the victim’s belongings, including his smartphone, also mutilating the thumb with which Hurtado unlocked his mobile device, fleeing in an unknown direction,” Rico reported.
The Cicpc,through field investigations and technical-scientific expertise,managed to locate and apprehend the suspect in the Tacarigua parish. Among the items recovered were a mobile device, a wallet, personal documents, and several pieces of clothing. Additionally, the hammer and a segment of the victim’s thumb were collected as evidence.
The case has been referred to the Sixth Prosecutor’s Office of the Miranda state – Barlovento Extension.
