The work of security guards everyday life is not an easy task at the Carrefour Market brand on rue Raguse Zac, in the Port Marianne district, in Montpellier.

Witness this intentional violence committed this Tuesday, November 26 in the morning, shortly after opening: one of the cashiers refused to cash a well-known teenager from the supermarket, who had just bought pastries and for good reason: known to commit of thefts, he was banned from appearing.

The cashier then kindly asked him to put down his purchases and leave the premises, but he refused. An altercation occurred, which attracted the attention of the security guard who immediately intervened to calm the situation.

The minor, known for hanging out with homeless people in the Carrefour Market area, where local residents regularly report incidents, such as fights against a backdrop of heavy drinking, did not want to go out. As the security guard tried to expel him, he punched him twice in the face before fleeing.

The teenager returned to Carrefour Market on Tuesday evening with his parents to obtain information on the acts of violence a few hours earlier, while a police patrol intervened. The slightly injured security guard will file a complaint at the central police station, according to supermarket management.

700€ of makeup products

Thefts are frequent in the aisles of this Carrefour Market located between the Jacques Coeur basin and the Ernest-Granier roundabout, but in general, the damage is low. However, in recent days, a “customer” whose suspicious behavior had attracted the attention and vigilance of a security agent was asked to empty a cache at the bottom of a bag, while at the checkout, he was only going to pay for a few small purchases placed on the conveyor belt.

Bingo! He had concealed for 700€ of makeup products which costs on average 15 to 20€ per unit. Other similar stores, such as those installed around the Laissac halls, in the streets Saint-Louis and Saint-Guilhem, bear the brunt of these waves of small thefts on a daily basis, with increasingly efficient security agents to spot the authors, who do not hesitate to rebel and beat them.
