A 17-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed by several men on Willy den Oudenstraat in Tilburg on Friday night. After finishing work around midnight, the victim was cycling home when boys – probably teenagers – started shouting at him near Olympiaplein and started cycling after him.
One of those boys, who rode an electric bicycle, managed to pin the victim on the Willy den Oudenstraat. Then the other boys came to stand around the victim. They wanted money, but the boy did not have it with him.
Badly beaten and kicked
They then gave the 17-year-old boy several blows. The victim fell to the ground, but the abuse continued there too. There was a lot of hitting and kicking.
As the group tried to grab the victim’s wireless earphones, several items of clothing and his cards, they also shouted that they would shoot him if he did not cooperate.
To flee
At some point the victim managed to flee. He then called one of the houses in the area for help. The police are called there.
The victim immediately reported the incident and was taken to a hospital in an ambulance. The police started an investigation.
