Mumbai: 19-year-old arrested for sending threatening e-mails against Mukesh Ambani. Ganesh Ramesh Vanpradhi, a native of Telangana, was arrested by Mumbai Gamdevi Police. He was remanded in police custody till November 8.
Mukesh Ambani received five threatening e-mail messages last week. The contents of the mails were to demand money and to kill.
‘If you (Mukesh Ambani) don’t give us Rs 20 crore, we will kill you. We have shooters in India.’ -This was the first e-mail message Mukesh Ambani received on October 27. The message came in the name of Shadab Khan.
Then the threatening mails came again. As the 20 crores requested in the first e-mail was not given, the next mail asked for 200 crore rupees. There was also a threat that Ambani’s death warrant would be issued if he did not.
In the third message received on Monday, the demand was for Rs 400 crore. Mukesh Ambani received two more threatening e-mail messages on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch and Cyber Sections at I.P. The police said that they reached the youth from Telangana when they went after them after checking the addresses. The police concluded that there are no more people behind the incident.
