An 18-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman are the victims of the severe accident that closed the Kubrat-Ruse road this afternoon, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Razgrad announced, quoted by BTA. It was initially claimed that two teenagers had died.
The head-on collision between the Opel Vectra and the Volkswagen Tuareg came after the car overtook an Iveco truck and entered the oncoming lane. Three people were traveling in the Opel – the dead 18-year-old driver from the village of Seslav, the 42-year-old woman who was driving behind the driver and her 21-year-old son – a passenger in the front seat. The driver had a driver’s license since November 15.
The “Volkswagen” was driven by a 53-year-old man from Ruse, with whom two women were traveling – his 50-year-old wife and her 78-year-old mother. They have been reviewed and released. The passenger of the car is also in stable condition.
Pre-trial proceedings are underway in the case. The road is already cleared and open for traffic.
The traffic on the road has been restored.
