Teen stabbed to death in fight after football game at school in NY – Telemundo New York (47)

NUVEA YORK – A 16-year-old high school student died after being stabbed in the school parking lot after a football game Friday night, police said.

It is not clear what caused the fight in the parking lot of Arlington High School in the village of LaGrangeville in Dutchess County, about 75 miles northeast of New York City.

But at some point during the fight, a 16-year-old student was stabbed and later died at a local hospital.

The superintendent of schools expressed his condolences in a letter and asked those present to collaborate with the investigation. “It is with deep sadness that we inform you that an Arlington High School student was stabbed and later died of his injuries after the American football game on Friday night. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim, “said Dr. Dave Moyer, the superintendent of schools. “Please refer to the information at the end of this letter if you were present and have additional information that may assist the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office with its investigation.”

The county Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Nestor A. Ortiz-Ocampo of Poughkeepsie is in custody and facing charges of manslaughter. Ortiz-Ocampo is an Arlington High alumnus, they added.

Anyone with information can contact the Sheriff’s Office at the Detective Office at 845-486-3820 or the information line at 845-605-CLUE (2583) or [email protected].

The case remains under investigation.
