Teen secretly uses parents’ account to rent a scooter: fined | Inland

Since last month, Alkmaarders have been able to use the green rental scooters from Go Sharing. Via an app on their phones they can create an account, find an electric scooter and drive it.

The 15-year-old who was arrested by the police on Monday was not old enough to ride a scooter and have his own Go Sharing account. The account the driver used belonged to one of his/her parents.

The driver has been fined. The parent’s account is blocked.

The race

Last week, the police also handed out a fine to the driver of a shared scooter, who was racing in Rekerhout park.

Like all road users, drivers of shared scooters must abide by the rules. Users who are not immediately stopped by the police, but who have received a traffic fine – for example for driving through a red light – will receive an invoice from the landlord.
