Teen Resulting in Gunshot Wound in Hoboken – NBC New York

A 17-year-old minor was the victim of firearms after being injured by a gunshot Monday night in Hoboken, the city announced in a statement.

Hoboken Police officers responded to the area of ​​the 4th Street in between Jackson y Harrison Street at 9:19 pm and found the 17-year-old with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center and later released, the city added.

“My thoughts are with the victim and her family, who are home and recovering. I am grateful for the quick action of the Hoboken Police Department who were nearby and responded to last night’s shooting within seconds, providing immediate help and preventing an escalation of violence. While police continue to investigate the incident, it is yet another sobering reminder that we can never accept gun violence of any kind, and we must work to keep guns off our streets by any means necessary,” said Mayor of Hoboken, Ravi S. Bhalla.

During the investigation, the authorities found eight shell casings and a 9mm pistol.

One of the bullets also hit a window in the 4th y Monroe Street. The occupant of the apartment was home at the time, but no one was injured.

No further injuries were reported.
