Aiden Fucci, a 14-year-old teenager, shared a disturbing image from his Snapchat account after being arrested for the murder of the cheerleader Tristyn Bailey, 13, who was found dead in a secluded wooded area of Florida, United States.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff, Robert Hardwick, Tristyn’s body was found on the night of Sunday, May 9, 2021, several hours after she went out for a swim, the New York Post.
The teen, who was in the eighth grade at Patriot Oaks Academy, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of the girl, who was a seventh-grade student at the same school.
Social networks were outraged after a Snapchat capture in which the young man threw a gesture of peace with his hand became public, just moments after his arrest, which was executed on Monday.
“Hello guys, Has anyone seen Tristyn lately?” Asks Fucci in the text that accompanies the photo he shared through his profile on the social network.
A neighbor discovered the body in a lagoon
Tristyn Bailey’s body was discovered near a pond around 6 p.m. by a neighbor who was walking through the remote wooded area in the Jacksonville suburb. Later that day, the young defendant posted the inopportune photo on his Snapchat.

The judge found probable cause to charge him with 2nd degree murder in the death of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey.

According Telemundo, the girl was stabbed to death at the hands of Aiden Fucci, who so far has not revealed a motive for the murder. However, Sheriff Hardwick thinks he murdered the girl with premeditation.

“I have worked homicide for almost 12 years. This is not even remote from an accident ”, he assured. “This is a heinous crime … It is the stabbing death of a 13-year-old girl by a 14-year-old boy. So we have a lot of work to do, ”Hardwick told WTLV, an NBC affiliate on Tuesday.
During a hearing conducted by Zoom videoconference, the young man was emotional, and it was determined that he will spend 21 days detained in the juvenile custody center, while the prosecutor determines whether he should be tried as an adult.
