Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly making a bomb threat against a New York high school, police announced Saturday.
According to the report of the Police Department of the city of Newburgh, the young man would have made the threat on Thursday through social networks against the north campus of the high school. Newburgh Free Academy.
Police confirmed the teen was arrested Friday and charged with making a terroristic threat and falsely reporting an incident.
Police said that due to the teen’s age his name will not be released.
The investigation was done in collaboration with the New York State Police, the Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The youth was processed in Orange County court and released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.
