After his comfortable qualification to the final of the long jump at the Olympic Games, Miltos Tedoglou spoke to the ERT camera about his race.
The Greek jumper commented on the conditions prevailing in the stadium, talking about the quality of the tartan which he characterized as very good, saying that what is said above about its quality is bullshit.
He also made it clear that if in the final on Tuesday (6/8) the conditions are favorable and there is no negative wind, then he can achieve a record.
Tedoglou’s statements
“The stadium is very nice, the tartan is very good. It was a bit cold for me today. In the morning it was 17 degrees. There was a headwind, I don’t know how much, but I could feel the wind when I ran.
It was not something for me to do 8.15m, nor 8.30m.. I can jump much higher. It was a controlled effort. In two days I will be “all in”.
Regarding the stage
“What they say is 2% better I don’t think is true. I think they are sparrows. I like those stadiums that have cement and tartan on top. It’s like the one in Tokyo, it’s just in a different time. I feel better in these types of stages, because I run better, I step better, I have better contact with the ground.”
He said the following about the final: “If the weather favors me even a little, it will be better in the final. If it has a negative wind, I don’t know how easy it is to make a record. I believe that if on the sixth of the month there are favorable conditions, then I will be able to set a record”.
