Jakarta –
Former West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Teddy Minahasa conveyed different information about the chat to the former Bukittinggi Police Chief AKBP Dody Prawiranegara. The different information is related to the word ‘Trawas’.
Teddy and Dody are defendants in drug cases. In the indictment read out by the prosecutor, the two were allegedly involved in exchanging 5 kg of methamphetamine with alum.
The trial continued until Inspector General Teddy Minahasa presented as a witness. Teddy denied giving orders to AKBP Dody to exchange crystal methamphetamine for alum. Teddy argued that he should replace methamphetamine with ‘Trawas’ which is the name of a district in Mojokerto, East Java.
“Obviously there was no order,” said Teddy during the trial at the West Jakarta District Court, Wednesday (1/3/2023).
“What is written there is Trawas with a capital T. That means the name of a place, namely one of the districts in Mojokerto, not alum. What we underline is where is the word for the command?” he continued.
Presiding judge Jon Sarman questioned Teddy’s intent in giving Dody a narrative to replace evidence. Teddy then answered that the narration was a warning so that Dody would not carry out the narration he sent.
“I have answered that, Your Honor, I only sent it so that Brother Dody would not do as I wrote it,” said Teddy.
One member of the legal advisory team then asked what the narrative meant. Teddy explained that the narration was satire for Dody.
“What does the narrative mean?” asked the legal adviser.
“I have already answered, it is a kind of satire, a narration so that Dody’s brother does not do that,” Teddy replied.
Teddy repeatedly emphasized that he wrote Trawas, not alum. Judge Jon then asked whether the implied meaning of Trawas and alum were the same.
“Alum and Trawas mean the same or not?” asked Judge Jon.
“It’s quite different, Your Majesty,” he replied.
When the judge asked Teddy to confirm what he had written, Teddy again said that he had written Trawas, not alum.
“Different, but what I meant to write was alum or Trawas?” asked the judge.
“Trawas,” he replied.
Chat Teddy and Dody Opened at the Session
The prosecutor then presented a digital forensic expert, Rujit Kuswinoto, at the drug trial with the defendant Inspector General Teddy Minahasa. Rujit shows Inspector General Teddy’s conversation with former Bukittinggi police chief AKBP Dody Prawiranegara.
The conversation via WhatsApp was displayed by Rujit in court at the West Jakarta District Court, Thursday (2/3). Rujit showed the contents of a DVD containing a digital forensic examination of a number of pieces of evidence in this case.
“Please allow me to explain, this is indeed the result of the digital forensic laboratory of Polda Metro Jaya and in this case I am presenting it because according to questions from the public prosecutor and following the dynamics of the trial, it is always asked about Trawas. So, the contents of the chat are actually on the iPhone’s evidence 13 were confiscated from Dody,” said Rujit.
Chief judge Jon Sarman Saragih then questioned the veracity of the data that Rujit displayed.
“That means the data is correct, right?” asked Judge Jon.
“Yes sir” Rujit replied.
