Teddy bears “Merkel” will cost 189 euros. Only 500 pieces will be made – and one of them, under the number 16, will be received by the Chancellor himself.
A German firm from Coburg has released a special batch of teddy bears to mark the end of Angela Merkel’s tenure as chancellor, Stern reports.
“Personal bears” is a tradition of more than 100 years of family business of the firm from Bavaria: the company made such toys in honor of Barack Obama and King Ludwig, there are copies of the former chancellor Helmut Schmidt and Queen Elizabeth II.
Teddy bears “Merkel” will cost 189 euros. “These are not toys for children, these are collectibles,” Managing Director Martin Hermann explained at the high price.
Only 500 pieces will be made – and one of them, under the number 16, will be received by the chancellor himself, it will be handed over to Merkel by a member of the Bundestag for the Coburg district.
The number “16” symbolizes the number of years Merkel has been in office.
Recall Madame Tussauds Museum in Berlin, presented a wax figure of Chancellor Angela Merkel in leisure clothing in connection with her upcoming retirement.-
