Ted Nugent opened up about Neil Young’s decision to take his music off Spotify. Something like that is, “with all due respect”, just “just stupid”.
Due to the “spreading of misinformation about the corona vaccination” via Spotify, Neil Young had his entire catalog removed from the streaming platform. The musician is primarily referring to Joe Rogan’s podcast. His show “Joe Rogan Experience” is known for spreading false reports about the corona pandemic.
Then some musicians followed Young’s example. Joni Mitchell, Nils Lofgren, and the members of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, among others, also had their music removed from Spotify.
Young is ignoring “truth, logic, common sense and indisputable evidence,” Nugent says
Nugent commented on the Spotify boycott as follows: “Only if you’ve used so many mind-altering chemicals in your life [wie Young]on the one hand you can proudly sing ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’ and on the other hand ignore all the evidence to support what Joe Rogan says and also everything I’ve said, that is, anything that encompasses truth, logic, common sense and undeniable evidence, and then claim that we’re the ones spreading misinformation, when the truth is this bird-brained stoner-punk is delivering the hoaxes.”
Nugent also touched on Mitchell: “Now Mitchell is doing the same and again I can only say God bless her. I hate folk at all but I know there are many out there who like folk and I salute them and thank them. And I appreciate any music that makes people happy and fuels their American dream or whatever dream they may have. Are there any other dreams? I do not think so. The Mexican dream is to get the fuck out of the country and go to America.”
Nugent has already attracted attention in the past with its controversial statements. For example, he posted a video with his wife Shemane in which the two called “institutional racism” a “lie”. He also called Bruce Springsteen a “scumbag” for supporting “communists like Biden and Obama.”
