The Federal National Council’s Technical, Energy and Mineral Resources Committee continued to discuss its work plan on the government’s policy on the sustainability of electricity and water services, during its remote meeting on Monday 10 October, led by Dr. . Nidal Al-Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee.
The committee approved the holding of a round table entitled “Electricity and Water Services and Achieving Their Sustainability for Community Members” on Thursday 13 October at 5pm at the Emirati Association for Social Development in Ras Al Khaimah, as part of the work plan of the committee to discuss “the government’s policy on the sustainability of electricity and water services”.
The committee meeting was attended by: Afra Al-Alili, committee rapporteur, and Muhammad Issa Al-Kashf, Maryam bin Thaniah and Youssef Al-Batran, council members.
The seminar aims to discuss the efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, regarding the development of energy and water services, and to identify the challenges that citizens face in the services provided to them by electricity and water, and coordination and cooperation efforts between relevant government and local sectors to ensure the sustainability of electricity and water services. The most important observations and suggestions will be included in the final report of the committee, which will be discussed later in one of the sessions of the council, in the presence of government representatives.
It is planned to discuss the topic, within the axes of the challenges that community members face in electricity and water services, and the social responsibility in achieving its sustainability.
