Technical Malfunction in Air Traffic Control Systems Causes Delays in UK Flights

The British “Sky News” network, quoting airlines, reported, on Monday, that there was a malfunction in the air monitoring systems in various parts of the United Kingdom.

Sky News has received reports of passengers on other airlines outside the UK being told that the air traffic control network is down and their flight will be delayed.

“We are currently experiencing a technical problem and have implemented traffic flow restrictions to maintain safety. Engineers are working to find and fix the problem,” the National Air Traffic Controllers said in a statement.

They added, “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The airline’s “Loganair” page on X, formerly known as Twitter, also posted: “There has been a network-wide failure of the UK’s air traffic control computer systems this morning.”

She added: “North-South flights and international flights may be subject to delays.”

“If you are flying with us today, please check our website for the latest information on your flight before heading to the airport.”
