Technical Issues Plague the Launch of Lords of the Fallen (2023) on PC, but Developers Release Patch to Address Concerns

Yesterday the role-playing game Lords of the Fallen (2023) appeared on PC and consoles. But, despite all its advantages, PC owners were dissatisfied with a lot of technical problems. The reboot received mostly negative reviews in Steamand against this background the shares CI Games fell noticeably.

The company has already announced its exit patch v.1.1.191, which must cope with the most critical technical failures. In particular, the game will now check installed drivers Nvidia and AMD and offer to update them if necessary.

The patch disables the Frame Generation feature, which was causing crashes for players with the new 40-series GPUs. The developers, together with Nvidia, are working on a more stable version of the driver. The company also provided a fresh patch for the engine Epicit includes additional protection against failures.

Players who encounter various problems are advised to turn on automatic graphics settings: there is a possibility that their systems cannot cope with the selected graphics level. The patch notes also provide a way to deal with shader compilation glitches after the game’s first cinematic.

Patch v.1.1.191 also makes changes to the balance, behavior of bosses, improves the sound and appearance of some assets. And the Steam Deck version now includes a virtual keyboard.

The developers’ attention to their project has already brought the first results: on Steam, the game’s ratings have risen to mixed. Lords of the Fallen is already recommended by more than half of buyers: 51%.
