The Loire Chamber of Agriculture publishes a technical bulletin every beginning of the week on plant water needs and irrigation advice. This is the one from July 29th
The crop of the week : Temperatures last week were very high and this trend has been strengthened this week. Crop water demand is therefore high for the season, especially as some will be at peak water levels (maize at the female flowering stage). If this is the case, remember to note the date that flowering started so you know when to stop watering. Note that a plot is considered to have reached a certain stage when 50% of the plants have reached this stage.
