Dying Light 2 continues to expand with countless collaborations and a development team focused on delivering post-launch content. With a number of big names like Dead Island and Dying Light under their belt, Techland is not only improving its sequel – thanks to a recently posted job, it was revealed that the team is working on an entirely new game – an open-world fantasy action RPG.
The latest job posting provides the first look at the unknown game, as Techland is looking for a new junior writer to help “create unforgettable experiences.”
The team explains that they are not only “continuously expanding the world of Dying Light 2 as part of an ambitious post-launch support plan for Dying Light 2,” but are also working on an open-world action RPG “set in an all-new fantasy universe.” Techland also calls this mysterious action-RPG their “biggest project to date.”
While the studio doesn’t say anything more specific about this RPG in the announcement, what’s exciting is that the project takes place in a completely new universe and moves away from the usual modern zombie setting. This could be the same universe that was discussed in the studio’s 2022 announcement of the studio’s first fantasy RPG, but Techland has not yet confirmed this or clarified whether “fantasy” refers to the genre or simply the fictional elements of their unannounced game.
