If a user has not changed it in the settings, under each user name in WhatsApp it is displayed when the person was last online or whether he is currently online. If this display suddenly disappears and there is no longer a response to a message, this is either a sign that the person currently has no reception or the number has been blocked from any contact via the app.
The double catch
A pretty clear indication that you have been blocked is that the messages no longer reach the person you contacted. This can be easily recognized by the fact that there is only a tick at the bottom right next to the sent message, indicating that the message was sent but not received. This can mean that you have landed on the blocklist and neither messages nor calls reach them.
The profile picture
Another obvious sign that someone has blocked you is a missing profile picture. Because if you have been blocked by someone on WhatsApp, the profile picture of that person is no longer visible. Profile pictures are only shown to users who are not on a block list. If one of the contacts suddenly no longer has a picture, this can mean that they either want to do without a profile picture or that you have been blocked in the app.
The WhatsApp calls
The inability to contact a person via WhatsApp calls is also an indication that you have been blocked. This can also be tried to see if this is the case. Because if you try to call the person on WhatsApp and the call fails, that is a clear indication that the person has blocked you.
Invite into a group
However, if you want to be on the safe side, you can run another test to find out if someone put you on the blocklist. All you have to do is try to add the suspected person to a group chat, as is normally possible. If this does not work and the error message appears with the text “You have no rights to invite this person”, you have the last necessary indication that you have been blocked by the person in WhatsApp.
