Tec teachers meet to learn more about hybrid education

Best practices and tools for hybrid education shared by national and international experts were among the main topics exposed in the National Meeting of Teachers 2021 from Tec de Monterrey.

In the Eighth edition This annual event also shared strategies for the continuity of the Tec21 model, themes of training, expectations of conscious return and the prize Inspirational Teacher 2021.

1. The new role of the teacher in hybrid education

2. Take change to the hybrid model as a move

During his keynote lecture, on the third day of activities, Roberto Rosler, dAcademic Director of the Educating Association for Human Development, noted that the migration of teachers to a hybrid environment it is similar to experiencing a move.

“We are changing from traditional classrooms to hybrid classrooms; like any move, it can be a very stressful event or an amazing adventure ”, he pondered.

José Escamilla, associate director for the Institute for the Future of Education at Tec de Monterrey, shared the challenges of online education after the pandemic and how it seeks to innovate to face them.

Tec professors Patricia Guzmán and Claudia Rodríguez shared ideas and advice for improve interaction with students in the hybrid environment, given the challenges generated by the pandemic.

“Have a well-defined communication and feedback plan, and to be close to students to know what is happening with them it has become very important”, Dr. Guzmán commented.

Meanwhile, Professor Rodríguez said that in this plan, teachers must identify students’ emotions, show a attitude of empathy and create a dynamic environment and equitable among students.

“Is about generate good relations between the teacher and the students so that they can be developed regardless of their status “the teacher pointed out.

The teachers suggest fostering a positive feedback via tasks that develop students’ thinking, strengthen your self appraisal, motivate the student and identify and highlight your strengths.

6. Educate and inspire during the pandemic

Three teachers from Tec de Monterrey and two teachers from PrepaTec were awarded nationally with the Inspirational Teacher Award 2021, for highlighting in his teaching work during 2020, the year of the pandemic.

The professors of campus Monterrey Roberto Ponce and Beatriz González, professors from the Monterrey campus; Y Joel huegel, from the Guadalajara campus, received the distinction, in the professional degree.

And the teachers were recognized for their work in high school Jeannie Kukutschka, from PrepaTec Santa Catarina; Y Patricia Picazarriby PrepaTec Ciudad Juárez.

“You are a great source of pride for Tecnológico de Monterrey. They are a great role model (…) it is evident that for you being a teacher goes beyond a profession. It has to do with vocation and passion ”, He said David garza, rector and executive president of Tec, in congratulating the winners.

Professors from Tec de Monterrey and PrepaTec were distinguished with the 2021 Inspiring Teacher Award.

The National Meeting of Teachers

The Eighth edition This annual event was held virtually and was attended by around 6 thousand 500 professional and postgraduate professors from the 26 campuses and the Tec’s National Schools.

Teachers participated in analysis tables on the implementation of Flexible Digital Model, workshops Y Master lectures on hybrid teaching offered by leaders and experts in different areas of education.

David Garza, rector and executive president of Tec, thanked all the teachers for all the work this year.

“At Tec de Monterrey we excel thanks to that enthusiasm Y dedication that all of you have put. Thank you for your commitment and I invite you to continue with that great passion in the work of educating leaders who will transform our country“, He said.
