According to the records in the SEC, the first ambulance arrives three minutes after the call for assistance. Of the 23 people, three were transferred to the Central Hospital. So far only one remains in intensive care, and two women are in the common room.
An unfortunate event took place this Sunday at the doors of the emblematic Plaza de Godoy Cruz Theater. At the exit of a play that was presented in the room, a motorist crashed into the doors of the theater and left more than 23 people injured. A joint operation was immediately deployed between the Ministry of Health, Civil Defense of Godoy Cruz and the Department’s Fire Department.
According to the records of the Coordinated Emergency Service (SEC), the first ambulance arrived three minutes after the 911 call and, after making the triage correspondingly, actions began to be coordinated with the Godoy Cruz Volunteer Firefighters and Civil Defense personnel. “The prompt response that was given was essential to avoid further complications in people’s health,” said the Undersecretary of Planning of the Ministry of Health, Mariana Álvarez.
“The records show the transfer of 23 people to different hospitals according to their seriousness and the social work coverage they had. Only three people registered serious injuries and, for that reason, they were referred to the Central Hospital for their attention,” Álvarez explained.
For his part, the deputy director of the Central Hospital, Lucas Mariani, confirmed the entry of three women by the guard of the capital care center, presenting multiple injuries. “Last night three women entered. A 59-year-old woman with hemothorax, for which a pleural drainage was performed and then transferred to the common room. The second woman, 75 years old, who was admitted with multiple facial fractures, underwent the corresponding studies to then be treated in the common room. The person who is in serious condition is a 27-year-old woman who arrived with a brain-cranial injury with loss of consciousness and several polytraumatisms. She was intubated in the Guard and then admitted to intensive care, where she is stable, “said the official.
From the Municipality of Godoy Cruz, the decision was made to suspend the theater performances that were scheduled for today and tomorrow, Tuesday. “From Culture we had winter vacation activities for these weeks but we have decided to cut these two days and see the possibility of resuming next Wednesday,” said the director of Culture, Diego Gareca.
