The Extremaduran company Teatro del Noctámbulo has been the one that has obtained the most nominations in the 2021 edition of the Max Performing Arts Awards, for the theatrical production ‘Tito Andrónico’ by William Shakespeare.

Specifically, it opts for the awards in the categories for Best Theatrical Show; Best Adaptation for Nando López; Best stage direction for Antonio C. The tragedy ‘Tito Andrónico’ is a co-production of the 65th edition of the International Classical Theater Festival of Mérida that premiered in 2019 and which has already been represented more than 30 times and which has been enjoyed by nearly 17,000 spectators.

The company has traveled a large part of the Spanish geography reaping “great critical and public success” as it became clear after passing through the Red Room of Madrid Canal Theaters in January of this year, it says in a press release .

This company already obtained in 2004 an award as Revelation Show at the Max Awards for the play ‘El bufalo americano’, by David Mamet, directed by Francisco Carrillo and performed by José Vicente Moirón, Javier Magariño and Juan Antonio Lumbreras.

A total of 191 shows of the 439 accepted to the contest have been selected to participate as candidates in the XXIV edition of the Max Awards for the Performing Arts, as decided, in this first phase, by the three territorial juries (Madrid, Catalonia and Communities) designated by the Organizing Committee.

After the first selection phase, a panel made up of the three presidents of the territorial juries, four personalities from the Performing Arts and a member of the Organizing Committee, will be in charge of deciding the finalists of the 20 categories competing for the XXIV edition of the Max Awards for the Performing Arts.

The Max Awards ceremony will be held on October 4 at the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao with the collaboration of the Bilbao City Council, the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao and the INAEM.
