Live culture at Teatro Avanti
Teatro Avanti will be during this weekend the only enclave where Cordobans can enjoy safe and live culture. The first play to be staged (this Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m.) will be Garbage dialogs, from the company La Quimera. This work for adults, a quirky beggar summons stunned locals with his song: he wants to get support for his enigmatic Infallible plan that, he says, will solve the problems of Spain and the world. One of the assistants runs to help him and become his advisor with the secret intention of stealing his plan.
Around a supermarket cart full of garbage, the public will witness a cruel and stark struggle for an imaginary power where, by chance, the garbage is sneaked, in addition to the poem The beggar of José de Espronceda, fragments of the entremés The cave of Salamanca and of The Quijote of Cervantes; of All devils speech, Dreams Y The Buscónby F. de Quevedo; of The Bible; of The brave vigilante by Agustín Moreto; of Don Gil of the green leggings from Tirso de Molina; of The great Semiramis of Cristóbal de Virués and of The life is dream from Calderón de la Barca. As well as past, present and future headlines and journalistic reviews.
The turn for the little ones will arrive on Sunday at 12:30 with a tribute to Gloria Fuertes from the hand, also, of the company La Quimera. The show will begin with the projection and music of One balloon, two balloons, three balloons, from the children’s program of the 70s. After this header will appear The Shamanas Katia and Selma, who will sing, sing with the audience the 101 years happy to Fuertes. The actresses will tell some really interesting things about her life and will also play with some of the most well-known stories, characters and poems of the poet.
Finally, this Sunday from 4:30 p.m., Las Raras -Ángela Conde and Paloma Jiménez- will offer their show I’m weird consisting exclusively of comic sketches in the key of irony where they will deal with such important issues as empowerment, equality and, above all, the inability of the human being to be happy.
