The magic of the Teatro a Mil International Festival returns to Puente Alto with five artistic interventions and plays that come free of charge to the residents of the commune between January 5 and 17.
The alliance between the Teatro a Mil Foundation and the Municipality of Puente Alto brings the best of this traditional Festival back to the commune, with activities in the San Francisco II Park, in the Juan Pablo II Park in Bajos de Mena and in the Teatro del Puente Alto Cultural Center.
Regarding the initiative, Mayor Germán Codina maintains: “For the Municipality of Puente Alto it is a pride to maintain for several years this alliance with the Teatro a Mil Foundation, which allows Puente Alto children and adults to enjoy artistic interventions in the neighborhoods every summer. , high-quality international shows, plays and activities for the whole family. The invitation is for our neighbors, and especially the little ones, to join the free activities that this renowned festival will bring to our community. With this initiative we continue to bring art and culture closer to the people of Puentealtino.”
The activities begin this Friday, January 5 at 7:00 p.m. when Tuga, the popular mime from Valparaíso with an outstanding international career and played by Rodolfo Meneses, arrives at Parque San Francisco II in Las Nieves Oriente with Los Salesianos, to invite us to enjoy the freshness of “An Orange Summer”the renowned street show that has gone around the world making the whole family laugh.
Then, the Puente Alto Cultural Center Theater will be the stage to present three renowned works:
From Spain we can enjoy “Private collection”where the applauded and award-winning flamenco duo made up of Marco Vargas & Chloé Brûlé, after almost two decades of experience, will present a selection of dances that cover their history of contemporary flamenco dance supported with powerful images.
Is it useful to ask questions about what love is? This and other questions are present in the montage “She loves him”. The Argentine playwright and director Daniel Veronese works with the renowned Chilean actors Tamara Acosta, Cristián Carvajal and Álvaro Espinoza, to present this work written in the midst of confinement and which has the lighting design of the prominent Chilean theater designer Catalina Devia (work for over 14 years old).
“Tomorrow is another country”, the monologue written and directed by the Belgian Michael De Cock and performed by the Chilean actress Maria José Parga will also be part of the productions that Teatro a Mil brings to the Puente Alto Cultural Center. The work is a co-production between Teatro Real Flamenco KVS (Belgium) and FITAM (Chile) that addresses the issue of migration from the perspective and imagination of a girl who must leave the country and depart from it. After performing in Belgium, Slovenia, England, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary and France, she now arrives in Puente Alto.
And on Saturday, January 13, a puma, a condor and a giant snake will invade the Juan Pablo II Park in Bajos de Mena, with the show “Clothes: Guardians of the Andes”. La Patogallina, one of the most important street theater companies in the country, prepares this parade aimed at the whole family, with sculptures of three Andean animals that call to reconnect with nature and history.
“As in recent years, the best shows from the Teatro a Mil International Festival will come to Puente Alto so that our neighbors can meet as a family, enjoying art and culture in the neighborhoods and in the Cultural Center Theater. We invite you to attend, be surprised and enjoy the summer by being part of this famous festival,” says Juan Pablo Sáez, director of the Puente Alto Cultural Corporation.
