The prequel series, which lets viewers find out more about the magical world in which “The Witcher” takes place, will premiere in 2022.
After the last episode of the new “The Witcher” season, a pleasant surprise was offered, for all viewers who did not turn off too soon. In the middle of the subtitles, a first sneak peek was shown of the upcoming prequel series “The Witcher: Blood Origin”.
Now Netflix has also released the teaser for a wider audience. In addition to showing action scenes and magnificent environmental images, several of the central characters are introduced, played by Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown and Laurence O’Fuarain, among others.
“The Witcher: Blood Origin” takes place in the world of elves, 1200 years before the action in “The Witcher”. This early chapter in the story tells of how the first witch came into being, as well as the events that led to humans, monsters and elves having their different worlds merged into one.
Series creator and showrunner is Declan de Barra, who has previously been involved in writing both the script and the soundtrack for “The Witcher”.
The first season of “The Witcher: Blood Origin” will consist of six episodes, with a premiere on Netflix sometime in 2022.
