With these words, the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, addressed the more than 200 young candidates of the left in Veliko Tarnovo.

BSP Chairman Mihail Mikov, PES leader Sergey Stanishev and BSP Youth Union Chairman Veronika Delibaltova opened the National Meeting of Young Socialists in Veliko Tarnovo. Delibaltova emphasized that there are several reasons for the gathering, including the sixth anniversary of the Youth Union and the 103rd anniversary of the organized youth movement. According to her, about 800 candidates for municipal councilors and mayors of the BSP are from the ranks of the young.

“These elections are special, they seek to distinguish the candidates of all parties from what they do together in the National Assembly,” stressed Mikov. He said that all elections are primarily politics and those who can make politics and give clear political messages reach the people. “It is obvious that in the person of Valentin Lambev in Veliko Tarnovo we have a candidate for mayor who has established himself as a conscious and accomplished politician,” Mikov was categorical.

“There is no room for despondency, you should be confident because of the history of the party and that for one year, despite the temptations, the BSP has remained true to the interests of those who supported us. This consistency, this clarity in the position deserves support, and the local elections will be a good example of that,” said Mikov. He called on the youth to actively participate in the campaign. The leader of the left was adamant that a distinction should be made between the BSP and others presenting themselves as left on the political scene.

“Put the energy and emotion of your age into the campaign. Try to be authentic left-wing socialists whose emotion can be transferred to the desperate and disenchanted. You have chosen to be consistent in the BSP, and it is a national party with a history that expresses the interest of a large part of Bulgarian citizens,” Mikov said.
