“With the Teamwire Federation, our market innovation for interoperability, we enable a secure exchange of information and communication across company boundaries,” explains Tobias Stepan, founder and managing director of Teamwire. “With the Teamwire Federation, the communication of organizations from numerous industries, such as authorities, BOS, clinics and financial service providers – across company and even national borders – can be linked with maximum security, absolute data sovereignty and maximum productivity.”
Comprehensive messenger communication
Teamwire Federation takes place 90 percent in the backend and can be implemented via on-premises as well as private cloud deployment. To activate it, the IT administrator must create a federation profile through the dashboard. This includes the public tenant name, the tenant URL, a private key and public key.
The integration must take place in both directions. Specifically, this means: After adapting the IT infrastructure, the respective IT administrators must enter the public key of the organization to be connected in the dashboard in order to set up the federation of the companies or server networks.
The IT administrator can only activate selected users for communication with the federated organization once the public keys have been exchanged. It is possible for them to communicate via the Teamwire Messenger in the form of text and voice messages and to transmit images, documents and videos.
Federation comes with the API 16 release
The IT administrator retains control over user management at all times, i.e. which users and groups are federated and which are not. Additional levels of security, such as chats being additionally protected via the private key, are also implemented. In addition, all messages are stored and archived on the backend of organization A and B.
Teamwire Federation is available with the API 16 release. Since the technological novelty affects the IT infrastructure, it is advisable to carry out the implementation with an IT integration partner.
