Gaston Silva is backing fellow Uruguayan Nahitan Nandez to join a ‘great club’ this summer with Leeds United in hopes of taking the midfielder to the Premier League, speaking to Calciomercato.
Thanks to the expressive president of Cagliari, Leeds’ interest in an action central midfielder is public knowledge these days.
Speaking after the summer 2020 transfer window closed, Tommaso Giulini admitted that the West Yorkshire giants had made a move for Nandez and forward Giovanni Simeone.
Cagliari, however, was never going to sell two key players with so little time to find a replacement.

Leeds and West Ham chase Nandez
Leeds, however, will face competition from a West Ham side that, with European qualification under its belt, suddenly looks like a more attractive option for players hoping to prove themselves in England (Corriere dello Sport).
It is not certain, at this stage, where Nández will exercise his trade in 2021/22.
However, his compatriot Silva, a Uruguayan international, will be among the first to congratulate his compatriot should a valuable game from Sardinia finally materialize.
“I know Nahitan very well. I’ve spent a lot of time with him in the national team. He is a great player, he has done very well ”, says Silva, who plays in Spain with Huesca.

“He settled in immediately and if he really has the opportunity to go to a great club, I am convinced that he will continue to do very well.”
Leeds failed with an offer in the region of £ 22.5 million for Nandez last year, and Cagliari demanded close to £ 30 million.
Serie A champions Inter Milan have also been linked, but the Nerazzurri’s dire financial situation makes a possible move to the San Siro futile (FC Inter News).
