Team17 announces the end of the MetaWorms NFT project today. We heard the voices of our team members, our partner developers and the gaming community. Their concerns convinced us to make a decision to withdraw from the NFT space.
Recently, getting more publishers are following an example of Ubisoft and touts the potential of being stuck in the NFT. The players, on the contrary, are not alone in this. Many developers share their opinion on this issue, such as Josef Fares, director It Takes Twowho he will saythat she would rather get a ball in the knee than implement NTF tokens in one of my productions.
At Aggro Crab, we condemn Team17’s decision to produce and become involved in the NFT. We believe tokens cannot be environmentally friendly or useful, and are just a bloody scam. Please do not bother Team17 employees and developers from under their umbrella, as this decision was taken by surprise and must have come from the game. In conclusion, we will not be working with them on future titles. We encourage other independent creators to do the same, as long as this decision is not reversed. Signed: Nick and Caelan.
Hello. Our Ghost Town Games team just wanted to assure you that Overcooked (and our future games) we will never implement NFT. We do not support these tokens. We believe that they carry too much cultural and environmental costs. We also want to ask our players to be polite as they express their concerns to the friendly neighborhood community managers :).
For our community. We have no intention of introducing the NFT in any aspect of our business, both now and in the future. In light of this, we ask you to be polite as you engage in discussions with our employees and community managers who have been involved in all of this without their consent.
