The United States of America have claimed their fifth consecutive gold medal at Paris 2024 by beating hosts France in the final by 87-98.
Just when things seemed to be going south for Steve Kerr’s men, Stephen Curry emerged to show why he is the best shooter of all time. The Golden State star connected on 8/13 three-pointers, including four consecutive ones in the final stretch, to sentence the French team.
Curry scored 24 points and had 5 assists, followed by Devin Booker and Kevin Durant with 15 points each, and a tireless LeBron James who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists.
For the French, the young prospect Victor Wembanyama was their top performer with 26 points and 7 assists; followed by Guerschon Yabusele who, in addition to giving us a tremendous dunk on LeBron, added 20 points and two steals to his name.
Curry said “enough”
When the game was more pressing. When it became a meaningless race with constant losses for the Team USA Stephen Curry emerged as the figure to put an end to the French hopes.

The point guard showed impressive composure by connecting on four consecutive three-pointers in less than three minutes.

With his triumph in Paris 2024, Kevin Durant becomes the first player in the history of American basketball with four gold medals in his sporting career. The Suns star won in London, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and now in the French capital.
He also won the 2010 World Cup in Turkey with the North American team, where he was crowned MVP of the tournament and also included in the Best Five along with Teodosic, Turkoglu, Linas Kleiza and Luis Scola.
Durant finished Paris 2024 with averages of 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists with 54% field goal shooting and 51% three-point shooting.
