Team Secret Captain Clement Puppey Ivanov Reflects on Defeat in TI12 Qualifiers

The captain of the Team Secret Dota 2 roster Clement Puppey Ivanov spoke after the team’s defeat in the elimination match from the qualifiers at The International 2023. The cybersportsman shared his emotions on Twitter.

Painful defeat. Tough year. Dota is an amazing game, but it’s very competitive. You can’t win everything, you know? I know I’ve lost every TI title, but maybe it’s time to finally give it up. No regrets, life is constantly changing. Peace to all ✌️

Qualifiers for TI12 for Western Europe took place from 27 to 31 August. The teams competed for two quotas for the Dota 2 World Championship — they were earned by Entity and Quest Esports. Team Secret lost their chance to play at The International 2023 after losing to Quest Esports in the lower bracket semi-finals.

Puppey has performed at all previous The International events. In 2011, Ivanov became the champion of the tournament as part of Natus Vincere, later he took second place three more times.
