Danny Makkelie has been appointed by UEFA as referee for the match between Red Bull Salzburg and GNK Dinamo Zagreb. Both teams will face each other at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
Makkelie is assisted in Austria by Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries. Joey Kooij is the fourth official. Rob Dieperink (VAR) and Dennis Higler (AVAR) support the refereeing foursome behind the video screens on location.
Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb could both use a victory in the Champions League. Salzburg lost its first two matches, Dinamo is on one point.
Ruperti en Manschot
Clay Ruperti and Jeroen Manschot will also play in the Champions League on Wednesday. The duo are VAR and AVAR respectively at the match between Stade Brest and Bayer Leverkusen. The match in France starts at 6.45 pm and is led by Slovak Ivan Kruzliak.
Van Boekel
A reunion between Lutsharel Geertruida and his former trainer Arne Slot is planned in Leipzig, when RB Leipzig and Liverpool face each other. With Sandro Schärer, the competition is under Swiss leadership, but Pol van Boekel is watching on the video screens as AVAR.
Youth League
Marc Nagtegaal takes action in the Youth League. He referees the match between the youth of Olympiacos and JK Tallinna Kalev. In Piraeus the referee is supported by Rens Bluemink and Murat Kücükerbir. The Greek Konstantinos Perrakis serves as the fourth official.
