Team List in AFF U23 Cup Semifinals: Vietnam-Thailand Safe, Malaysia Escaped

KOMPAS.com – Vietnam and Thailand national teams managed to secure the remaining spots in the semifinals 2022 AFF U23 Cup when Malaysia was knocked out of the competition.

Vietnam and Thailand national teams complete the team list in 2022 AFF U23 Cup semifinals after a duel in the last match of Group C, Tuesday (22/2/2022) night WIB.

The Vietnam vs Thailand match which took place at Prince Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was crucial for both teams.

The team that wins the match automatically advances to the semifinals as winners of Group C. Previously, Vietnam and Thailand both defeated another competitor in Group C, namely Singapore.

After a fierce match, Vietnam managed to beat Thailand 1-0 thanks to Nguyen Trung Tanh’s only goal in the 29th minute.

The Vietnam national team has also qualified for the semifinals. They top the Group C standings with a collection of six points.

Meanwhile, Thailand, which only conceded one goal against Vietnam, is also entitled to advance to the semifinals.

Thailand passes through the lane runner-up best, getting rid of the hosts Cambodia who finished second in Group A standings.
