As Team Argovia reports, it’s going to be “big as hell”: The NLA team’s opponents next weekend, the BC Uzwil 1 and the Badminton Lausanne Association 1, are currently in first and second place in the table. The first team has to step up at least a step compared to the last game weekend if they want to score points.
Team Argovia 1 against Badminton Lausanne on November 16th
Things are going great for the Badminton Lausanne Association 1 this season. After winning the championship the season before last, the team from Lausanne struggled with significant injury problems among the women last season and found itself in a relegation battle. This season, however, the team is determined and is no longer giving out gifts – they are leading the table undefeated.
There are three national squad players in their squad, reinforced by several very strong foreigners, such as Nhat Nguyen, currently number 42 in the world in men’s singles, or Alexander Dunn, currently number 40 in men’s doubles. It will be very exciting to see whether Tobias Künzi can defend his clean slate against these top players in the men’s doubles.
BC Uzwil 1 against Team Argovia 1 on November 17th
Things are going well again at BC Uzwil this season. The multiple Swiss team champion didn’t quite get into the rhythm last season, but this season it’s working even better.
Apart from the encounter against the Badminton Lausanne Association 1, they won all games and are consequently in second place in the table.
In addition to very strong Swiss players, they rely on their international stars: Cheryl Seinen (number 36 in women’s doubles), Robin Tabeling (number 16 in the world in mixed doubles – one of the best mixed players in Europe) and the singles specialist Victor Svendsen. If the team from Uzwil is complete, they are optimally staffed in all positions – there are no easy games. Getting points in Uzwil will be anything but easy.
