Once representatives of the Teachers Union unilaterally began the distribution of books in 325 schools last Friday morning, the director of the IEA, Lorena Rodríguez Martínez, called on the SNTE to urgently resume the dialogue next Monday .
He expressed that the authority report of supervisors and directors of the schools will be requested and according to said report, see the legal actions that will be taken and the possible sanctions for the distribution of textbooks that was done without the consent of the judge and the IEA. , since they were precisely waiting for the Judiciary to issue the order to proceed with the distribution.
He expressed in an exclusive interview with HIDROCÁLIDO that around 29% of the textbooks were distributed, both from the previous scheme, which were those for preschool and telesecundaria, and from the New Mexican School, for second, third and fourth grades.
The delay in this urgent resolution was caused by causes beyond the control of the IEA and therefore, the head of the IEA said that it is not with the authorization of the Institute that the distribution of the books has begun and that this situation cannot be allowed, at least that it has the consent of the judge.
He stressed that the distribution of books was not authorized by the Institute and in recent days the teachers union had announced the possibility of a work stoppage.
“Things have been tense in the circumstance of the delivery of books and finally, union representatives in the schools where we had deposited the textbooks in warehouses, (they had been distributed before the protection in regional warehouses, in schools that had space in the school zones – and on Friday the supervisory committees, which are the union representation, made the decision to distribute the books in the schools where the books were stored.
Those who arrived first were distributed, which were from preschool and telesecundaria, which are exactly the same as those distributed last year and some, yes, from primary, second, third and fourth grades, who were already in the schools.”
They were distributed in 325 of 1,440 schools “and the reality of things is that we need to regain dialogue with the union, because although we have been talking with them all last month, trying to find a way out, together, to the judicial part, “The reality of things is that the courts have been very slow.”
However, the moment of pressure came from the teachers and they made that decision, “I am waiting for us to be able to resume the dialogue next week and have a solution as quickly as possible.”
Finally, he highlighted that from the authority report we will see the legal actions and sanctions that the Legal Directorate of the Institute has to carry out for the distribution of books without authorization from the IEA, but a lot will continue to be invested in dialogue to prevent this from happening. to the work stoppage, “which would be the worst scenario and which of course we do not want to reach.”
