Against the level groups, four unions are organizing a new day of strike at the beginning of the school year on Monday 22 April. An exhibition is planned in Toulouse.
“No to the clash of knowledge, yes, to the clash of methods. » As of April 2, and according to this first presentation, elementary, middle and high school teachers will put their emphasis back on Monday, April 22, the beginning of the school year. According to the station, we must therefore expect the cancellation of courses and breaks in the restaurants.
This new strike, which is still announced by the FSU (SNES and SNUipp), the CGT, Sud and FO, shows the determination of teachers against the “knowledge clash”, in other words for the level groups. For them, despite the backlash that the Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet is working on, these grade groups are like a “social arrangement” that “reinforces inequalities”.
These groups would also disturb the behavior of the students by “breaking up” the class. The reform must come into effect at the beginning of the school year in September for classes 6th and 5th.
Show at the Capitol for free
Above all, for the union, this reform takes place in a context of “lack of resources”. In Haute-Garonne, the unions want an “emergency plan” to employ 3,000 teachers in schools.
With this new day of strike, they announce a week of protest with, on Monday, rallies at 8 am in front of the centers, a demonstration at 1 pm leaving the Place du Capitole.
And Thursday, at 2 pm, “casserolade” in front of the legislature.
