They are part of the 98 teachers who participated in the call for the Festival of Teachers and Creative Teachers, which invited teachers from the District to participate in three languages: scenic, audiovisual and plastic arts. Art is lived in schools and its protagonists are also the teachers.
In a work carried out from July 16 to 26, highly qualified experts evaluated and qualified the works presented. The actress Diana Ángel curated the works in performing arts; Monika Barrios, in the audiovisual language, and the multimedia artist Giovani Randazzo, in plastic arts.
This team of artists was in charge of studying the 98 works and selecting 43 that will have the opportunity to be seen in the three rooms of the National Theater between October 2 and 7.
“There is a lot of variety in the arts and in each of them you can appreciate the passion, dedication and commitment with which they assume these alternative life projects. In some cases, the projects are carried out jointly with the students and they become collective, transformative processes, committed to traditions, the environment and the national historical memory and, in many cases, an important cultural reference for the legacy of the teachers.” said Diana Angel.
Santiago Alarcón announces the names of the finalists:
“We consider that this is a great first step in the consolidation of a space that allows visibility of the different artistic projects that teachers are carrying out within the classroom or parallel to their work as teachers. We are building a Festival that stimulates creation, that gives them the opportunity to show the public the different artistic experiences that they are developing and applying in their personal and academic environments”, said teacher Edna Bonilla Sebá, Secretary of Education of the District.
This is an initiative of the Department of Education of the District and the Fundación Teatro Nacional, which is carried out within the framework of the Second School Arts Festivalwith the purpose of making visible the creative work of the teachers of the official schools of Bogotá.
The main objective of the Festival of Teachers and Creative Teachers is to articulate a movement of cultural diffusion that generates and promotes artistic activity in teachers and teachers of the official schools of Bogotá.
artistic consultancies
Between August and September the phase of artistic consultancies begins for those selected, which will be led by professionals designated by the National Theater, who will carry out workshops according to the techniques and languages. They will have a space with each of the participants to provide feedback that will optimize the works or provide new tools to continue delving into the different languages.
The selected people with their works will be scheduled to be presented in the theaters of the National Theater from October 2 to 7 at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, with free admission to the public. .
The Festival received diverse proposals in artistic processes and techniques. Various personal creative processes outside the classroom and some works show the development of projects within schools, with peer teachers and in some cases proposals developed with students.
In the case of stage language, 43 proposals were presented between dance, music and theater; audiovisual, 22 works, and plastic, 33, all at different levels of quality. The curating team evaluated the staging, the coherence of the proposal with the product presented, the innovation and the impact it can have on the public.
